I would choose deluge gun, as fire monitor can be interpreted as something that monitors fires, deck guns are the main guns on submarines for anti-shipping strikes in WWII/WWI, master stream is not as intuitive a name.

Disputed Etymology
The page claims a connection to a
class of warship, but it seem more likely to have bees taken from
Hydraulic mining where the water jet hardware is called a monitor.
