Besides his Erdős–Bacon number, is this person significant? The only reference is something he wrote.

The criterion for "notability" is quite fuzzy. Minor soccer players, obscure musicians are considered "notable" while many scientists that have made quite important contributions are deemed not. Funny...
Please see the reasoning in this
Rfc for why this was removed. --

That RFC is about whether to include the information on Portman's page. I hope it goes without saying that the relative interest of this information is much larger for Kleitman than it is for Portman. In addition, the Erdos Number Project explicitly mentions this fact about Kleitman (although the target of the link seems to have changed, I will update it in a moment). --

The reasons behind the oppose votes apply here as well. The closer wrongly said that it was mainly due to the fact that it was not mentioned in a RS. 12 of the 14 oppose !votes either did not mention the RS part or said even with an RS they would oppose. I will remove it again as the arguments stand up here and there was community consensus on the subject. If you wish to add it again please go through a suitable dispute resolution procedure.

No, the context here is completely different than on Portman's article, the RfC only applies to that article, and to remove again here after being reverted and without establishing consensus would be inappropriate. I have already begun a conversation on a suitable forum (
WT:WPM; you should have received a ping); you are welcome to participate in the discussion there. --

This is not a mathematical subject but a trivia subject. The RFC showed consensus about this subject. I will open a new RFC here on the Wikiproject biographies page.

There is no reliable source provided that Kleitman is CREDITED IN THE CAST for a film. Claiming that he appears without evidence that he is credited is meaningless. I could claim that I appeared in all of Bacon's films, but unless I'm in the cast list I don't have a finite Bacon number.
