Sources
A note on the sources for this article, some of which do not meet traditional Wikipedia guidelines: PNG is a small country, and many of its media sources are hosted on blogging sites or function primarily through Facebook. When writing the early versions of this article, I worked hard to draw on the nation's major media sources as defined by BBC Papua New Guinea Media profile (a source that I, as a librarian, often point patrons to when they need to know the largest media outlets for another country). The top three media outlets in PNG mentioned by the BBC are The National, The Post-Courier, and EMTV, which are the main sources used in this article. The BBC profile also does mention that blogs are central to communication in PNG. Absolutely whenever possible this article uses traditional news sources, but in some cases it was simply not achievable -- in particular when identifying the award winners for each year. When sources were questionable I tried to at least double them up. In order to properly represent notable topics from PNG, sometimes this choice will be necessary.
