This species is not listed in MSW3, not even as a subspecies or synonym. As such, I highly doubt the validity. -

I've sent an email to Dr. Hutterer for comments on this. He's the author of the shrew section in MSW3. -

The Corsican Giant Shrew is a prehistoric mammal (or better that said it became extinct in the early holocene). MSW 3 are listed only recent mammals which became extinct after 1500. --
