Community pantries in the Philippines → Community pantry – The article "Community pantries in the Philippines" now covers beyond the Philippines. Community pantry is also different from community fridge because community pantries were a recent phenomenon in the Philippines that was setup due to effects of the lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, a community fridge, an old concept, uses a refrigerator while community pantries do not.

The only mention of community pantries outside the Philippines is two sentences about East Timor, yet there are six paragraphs describing how they are linked to Filipino culture. --

Weak oppose. The Philippine phenomenon is very notable IMHO. It's
too early to make this assessment. Without the community pantries in the Philippines, pantries outside the Philippines wouldn't be notable anyway, if there would be (without the Philippine initiative to begin with). —hueman1 (

Oppose. This is why I originally added a year to the article (I think it was 2021 Community Pantry Movement in the Philippines) when I first created it. There is more to these pantries than just the fact that they are pantries. They belong to a specific historical moment and a specific social context. Not that my perception carries more weight than others. But If we ever have an article called "community pantries", I still think this article ought to be its own thing. -

Oppose: Other countries might have a community pantry, the title might be confusing if the title is only Community Pantry.
