I don't want to persecute User:Pumpie, but I can't understand some of this. - Runcorn 15:31, 21 January 2006 (UTC)
The article has to be re-written completly (User:atf) 19.02.06
Hi, I had to trim the recent additions, as the style was more adequate for a literary or historical magazine than for an encyclopedia. Please note that Wikipedia articles should report only relevant facts (incuding the fact that X said Y in an available publication), not the personal interpretations or evaluations of Wikipedia editors. Thus, saying that "Claridade" did something in an "exemplary" way is not OK, unless that has been written in some reputable and independent publication (which should be cited). All the best, -- Jorge Stolfi ( talk) 02:51, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
I removed the following paragrpah because I could not understand what was meant by "School":
Is that a specific institution, or a school of thought, or what? In any case, the use of boldface for emphasis is not appropriate here — its proepr use is basically in the opening paragraph, for the topic of the article and equivalent names. All the best, -- Jorge Stolfi ( talk) 02:55, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
The text mentioned ethnographic studies on the "Tabancas" of Santigo and the "Bandeiras" of Fogo. Please clarify. Are those ethnic groups, customs, places, or what? Please provide wikilinks to the corresponding articles (even if these articles do not exist yet). All the best, -- Jorge Stolfi ( talk) 03:31, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
I believe that the name is better translated as "light" than "clarity". The latter nowadays means mostly "intelligibility" which in Portuguese would be "clareza" not "claridade". The metaphor of being a "beacon" for Capeverdanism supports this translation. -- Jorge Stolfi ( talk) 04:43, 22 December 2009 (UTC)
