The plot summary seems to have been written as issues came out, without being devided to designate them. That beign the case, there are many uses of terms like "Most recently" "currently" "As x does x" that imply an unknown conclusion that is later shown to be known. I'd prefer if someone more familiar with the story modified these things 206.126.163.20 ( talk) 18:49, 7 November 2008 (UTC)
Could someone clean up the grammar in this article please? It jumps from present tense to past tense to future tense, sometimes in the same sentence. Its painful to read. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.7.183.130 ( talk) 09:27, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

I removed all but one of the external links, as the list was entirely too long. Many of them look like they could be used as inline citations, but if not they probably don't belong here. For the convenience of other editors I'm moving the deleted links here so that they may be discussed and considered and returned if a consensus is reached on each one.-- otherl left 17:13, 31 December 2009 (UTC)
Newsarama Coverage
Newsarama's Civil War Room
During the run of Civil War, the comics website Newsarama ran monthly "Civil War Room" discussions, talking to Civil War editor Tom Brevoort and writer Mark Millar about each issue, the day after it hit the stands.
Comic Book Resources Coverage
Shouldn't this article have a "Cultural references" section? Unlike most super heroe stories, which simply have references to previous super heroe stories, this one (either the main comic book or the relaed ones) are full of cultural references. The 9/11 attacks and how american society reacted to it, the Guantanamo Bay, the american civil war, the assasination of Lee Harvey Oswald, emigration for political reasons, a cameo of George W. Bush, the crossing of the Rubicon (both in a figurated and literal sense), the help of jailed criminal Lucky Luciano to prevent a Nazi infiltration in the US during WWII, and so on... not to mention that self references (meaning, references to other events from within the Marvel Universe) are also important, and span from recent things such as the young avengers to distant ones as the death of Gwen Stacy.
Episodes of The Simpsons make "Cultural references" sections from much less than this... MBelgrano ( talk) 02:49, 28 April 2010 (UTC)
This section states at the top "(This list is in read order)". However, having been reading through the comics in the order of the list, I've found this to be not only untrue, but also discovered that the list is incomplete. For a start, it doesn't even include Civil War #7. It then has Wolverine #48 before Civil War #6, even though it is an epilogue to the Civil War. It also doesn't include Fantastic Four #542 or #543. It also has Amazing Spider-Man #536 before Civil War #6, even though an editor's note in the comic states "Pick up civil war #5 and #6 to fill the gap". There have also been a number occasions where I've read a comic and the events seem to have appeared completely out of place in the overall timeline (like Sue walking out on Reed in one comic, and then being with him for the entirety of a comic later on in the 'read order').
Now, I know there is a lot of overlap between the comics, and some (such as the Wolverine story line) are more loosely related to the overall story than others; however, there do seem to be some glaring errors, and omissions. Having not had access to all the comics, I cannot attempt to put the list in the correct order; however, is Wikipedia even the place to attempt such a thing? I think, at most, a list should be given in release order, as this is factual, and non-disputable. I'm yet to find an official or definitive read order, if one does exist, from a reliable source, then I feel it could be included, with reference given; however, if no such list does exist, then doesn't any read order fall into the field of "primary research", and as such outside of the scope of Wikipedia?

May somebody confirm if New Avengers #20 (which is in the list) belongs to Civil War? I had checked lists in internet and I didn't find it, well all lists are from spanish editions, but neither in english. Thank you McCuack70 ( talk) 23:03, 7 August 2011 (UTC)
I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Civil War (comics)'s orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

I’ve removed citations to the following self-published or otherwise unreliable sources. If it can be shown that they meet WP:RS, please feel free to re-insert them.

This article is largely breathless blow-by-blow plots and endless explanations of all the mind-numbing details that were changed each time the story is revisited in another format. I got rid of most of that but didn't have time to trim the various alternate-earth and sequel "summaries."--~ T P W 16:58, 11 January 2017 (UTC)
