Hi all
There seems to be conflicting information regarding the number of Tamils who qualified for Sri lankan citizenship under this act.
The Bill section of the wiki states that: Only about 5,000 Indian Tamils qualified for citizenship. More than 700,000 people, about 11% of the population, were denied citizenship and made stateless
However the final Aftermath section fo the same wiki puts the numbers are 100,000 Tamils. Only about 100,000 Indian Tamils qualified for citizenship under this Act.
There is thus a huge conflict in the numbers.
Could someone knowledgeable please resolve this conflict with some good citations? Thanks Notthebestusername ( talk) 10:56, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
