I just spent some time on this, copy-editing and adding some citations. The only thing I removed was one sentence: "The overall story was based partially on folklore from Saint Mary's County, in Southern Maryland.[citation needed]" So far, I haven't been able to find a reference for this, and since this only connects the Blair Witch movie to Saint Mary's County, I thought maybe it wouldn't be missed in an article about Burkittsville. -- AnnaFrance ( talk) 20:28, 12 May 2008 (UTC)

This appears at the top of the history section. Does this mean the land was purchased or claimed (for free) ? Needs clarification. SinisterLefty ( talk) 18:29, 17 December 2018 (UTC)
Pundit Charles Murray is surely the most notable present-day resident of Burkittsville. There ought to be a line about him in here.
