I am pretty sure that the aliens didn't trigger the Doctor's head to explode; I think it exploded because he was using all of his considerable smarts to resist them, and the fight escalated to exploding head. In light of the chess player in the second episode, who also resisted them (both of them noting that they could feel 'them' inside their heads), and also exploded, I don't think it's something that can be triggered, but instead happens when people with strong wills and intellect (and to whom those are defining characteristics) are invaded by the space ants.

But see, it speculates in the article, incorrectly as we have learned. To Wit: "Before he can be treated, the aliens in his head trigger his brain to swell and explode, killing him." Which is also original research, and that was what I was trying to bring up.

Ah, it would have helped if you had said you were referring to something in an episode summary, which I'd not read (as an aside, I was thinking of adding a premise since the lead seemed kind of inadequate in describing what actually goes on in the show, but wasn't sure where one should go). That being said, your own speculation seems wrong too. Apparently, "bugs fart", according to the scientist guy in the last episode--though in the same episode a woman bleeds from her ear as she is made to recall painful memories. Basically, we shouldn't say why the heads explode till the show says why definitively, which it hasn't. Oh, Happy Canada Day everyone.

I was wondering how one would go about writing these, or if there is any reason (besides no one wanting, because I can get that) they haven't been filled out (I don't know the policy on these sorts of things).

Summaries that appear to have been skipped are likely to have been previously removed due to copyright infringement. A lot of people simple copy the summaries they find on IMDB, Zap2it, etc. You're free to write them if you wish.
