This article seems to include nothing about the financial scandals that clouded Boy's Town's reputation? One of the articles linked to this even mentions it, but the wiki article does not... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.113.248.2 ( talk) 21:20, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
What about the molestations that happened at the Boys Town in Banning? [1]
Is this being swept under the rug? ≈Superbeatles™ —Preceding signed but undated comment was added at 06:10, 28 September 2007 (UTC)
This does in fact refer to a different boys town if you read the article linked to above it says
"...Boys Town in Banning. The now-demolished school was modeled after the storied Nebraska institution..."
But what is relevant is the Franklin child abuse allegations which were connected to boys town Nebraska because Lawrence E. King donated large amounts of money and also provided employment for many of Boys Town's young men. It is alleged that King amongst others used Boys Town children as child prostitutes, and encouraged them to coax other Boy's Town children into child prostitution. It is only fair to mention that the Boys Town staff were not implicated and are said to regret relations with Lawrence E. King. Source for this is the documentary Conspiracy of Silence which is available on the internet in several places.
Charles Manson connection?
As an alumni, as far as I know, the story on his being there was that what he got kicked out for at the end of those four days was taking a knife and then using it to steal a van. That's what were told. It was implied that he threatened people with the knife on his way out. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.198.194.11 ( talk) 05:58, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
There is a similar Boys Town organization in Australia (www.boystown.com.au) - is it an offshoot? It should either be mentioned here or disambiguated from this one, as appropriate. Rodparkes 06:08, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
Does anyone have any information on how effective the Boys Town hotline is? If so, would it be relevant to the article to include information about the hotline?
Does anybody else think this article reads like a brochure for Boys Town?
I think so too- it should also mention the amount of child rape and pedophile sex rings that gathered children from here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.72.146.181 ( talk) 06:19, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
I concur -- I don't see any significant history of Boys Town, just a list of renovations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by L.cash.m ( talk • contribs) 22:29, 14 August 2012 (UTC)
Agreed, it's a pamphlet. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.241.116.152 ( talk) 03:38, 7 October 2012 (UTC)
I think it is not a good article and should mention all about the case Frankling. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.154.166.103 ( talk) 02:46, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
This article requires disambiguation for the Boys Town Australia and the other Boys Town in Banning

In 1973 the Omaha Sun, Nebraska was awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Local Investigative Specialized Reporting for uncovering the large financial resources of Boys Town leading to reforms in the organization's solicitation and use of funds contributed by the public. Massive swaths of uncited material, and things like company phone numbers and (R) symbols, give me concerns that an employee of the organization added material not covered in WP:SECONDARY sources such as newspapers and books, giving this article WP:UNDUE weight problems. – Novem Linguae ( talk) 05:51, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
I deleted this passage because there is no immediate relevance to Boys Town. The offender was no longer at BT at the time of the transgression and there is no reliable sourcing indicating that she was a problem while at BT. It invites innuendo. In 2015, a former supervisor at a Boys Town group treatment home was convicted of having sex with a minor, aged 17. The offender, a 32-year-old woman, was sentenced to five years probation. On appeal, the conviction was affirmed by the Supreme Court of Nebraska. -- Melchior2006 ( talk) 00:09, 12 September 2023 (UTC)
