I think the artists who are creating this kind of satire are extremely important to a functioning democracy. They are illustrating the hypocrisy in much of our religious culture simply by stating the official positions of certain institutions. I think Betty Bowers is forcing people to think about their positions and beliefs more than any religious leader ever does.
