Hello, I agree, the article was based on popular science magazines and rumors. An article in the Int J of Primatol has just come up though (June). It might be interesting to add it as a reference to the page, if it is to remain. According to this article, there are now four species within the Cacajao genus: C. calvus, C. melanocephalus, C. hosomi and C. ayresi. -

ayresi oder ayresii
Hello. The correct scientific name should be ayresi and not ayresii because Boubli uses this form in his paper
abstract - I have the full paper and it clearly says ayresi. No idea why the english and every other Wikipedia uses the wrong version. Regards --

The correct scientific name is C. ayresi. I do not know why it is in Wikipedia as C. ayresii. Nowhere in the description is the name C. ayresii mentioned, however, give that the article was started before the official description was published, it probably resulted from that. I will fix as much of this as I can.
