As the plot summary was overlong, and had been tagged as such, I've restored a brief but adequate synopsis from an older revision

I made a few changes in the Plot section. Most were routine copy editing. The major exception was to change the statement that the painting was sold to Terry. It wasn't; it was given to her. Nickie says he couldn't have taken money for the painting, and the woman who came to the gallery didn't have any money, and "she was-- she was--," so he let the painting be given away.
Also changed the terms for Nickie's and Terry's former partners. Nickie was engaged to Lois; Terry wasn't engaged to Ken, nor does the film imply that he was her lover in a physical sense.

Nickie or Nicky?
Should be one or the other consistently.

I don't think An Affair to Remember is a musical film, wouldn't you agree? --
