Can anyone provide a citaiton to the section stating that there is no law against public intoxication? I find this very hard to believe. I have added a [citation needed] tag. — Preceding

I thought it was legal to for minors to drink alcohol in private, just not buy it.
Seems that New York State Authorities want to control ALL of your personal/private life!!

Response to above, with my apologies because I'm not familiar with Wikipedia editing: Your understanding was partly correct.
The NY Senate's website states the law as "A person under the age of twenty-one years may possess any alcoholic beverage with intent to consume if the alcoholic beverage is given [...] to the person under twenty-one years of age by that person's parent or guardian."
Basically, a parent or guardian can choose to provide alcohol for consumption by their own kid. If the neighbor's kid drinks it, that's illegal. — Preceding

The photo on this page shows a liquor store in Colorado, particularly with beer and wine being sold in the same store, which can't be done in NY. — Preceding

I removed the picture, as it added nothing to the article. --
