Date of Death
Although I aware that he has died. I have temporarily reverted this because the actual date of death is not clear. The first ref doesn't mention it at all and the second ref has his death in the wrong place. Alan was admitted to hospital on the 4th and 'died overnight' - that is the best that I have found. My information is that he died in the early hours of the 5th (but I know that you are not going to accept my word!). A much better and exact reference is required.
I can't argue with the short description though!

[1] clearly shows it as 4 July (this is a way of bypassing the paywall to verify it). Alan Blaikley, born March 23 1940, died July 4 2022- and the Daily Telegraph is a reliable source for this.

Whatever the IP's "information" may be, Wikipedia is based on what reliable published sources say. If they revise the date, so shall we - but, not until then.
