The original full name of the Air Army was 6-я Краснознаменная отдельная армия ПВО (6th Red Banner Independent Army of PVO). The new name on amalgamation was 6-я Краснознамённая армия Военно-воздушных сил и противовоздушной обороны (6th Red Banner Army of Military Air Forces and Anti Aircraft Defence), however as of 13 September 2005 by the President of RF order No.1069 the Army was awarded the honorary title "Leningradskaya" for service in WWII, which means it is now 6th Red Banner Leningrad Army of Military Air Forces and Anti Aircraft Defence. The interesting thing is that this is a very unusual designation since there is a Mixed (смешанная) designation available for air units. —Preceding

More research required, but it may have been the 76th Air Army that the 13th was reflagged into.--mrg3105mrg3105 07:53, 31 December 2007 (UTC)reply
