I think the heading "Formal end" is premature but I have not changed it.

Agreed, Think it might be a bit premature, but I wasn't sure how to make the title sound "neutral" (not violating NPOV), so that's the best I thought of. Is "An end in sight?" a more appropriate title?

Perhaps we should leave it for a few weeks and see what happens.

Wait and see how many
ASLEF members join
RMT... Incidentally, 'Aftermath' is probably a better section header than 'End.'

What was the outcome of these strikes? Unsuccessful, presumably? The page title suggests they're still ongoing as of 2019, but the last update in the article is from 2018...

Oppose the proposed new title, this article documents a series of related strikes, and patently the article is
WP:NOTFINISHED. Its lede starts "Major industrial action in the form of periodic strikes and protests have been ongoing" (my emphasis) and see e.g. see
BBC News here about South Western Railway strikes in December 2019 (which were scheduled to finish at 23:59 on 1 January 2020) and South Western Railway planned strikes called off in March 2020 (
BBC News of 3 March). So if anything we should make it 2020 or
Rail Strikes in the UK since 2016 or something.... Oddly, South Western is not mentioned in the body text of the article. It makes sense to change the title, but not to that proposed.

Tut, tut. Industrial action has been ongoing. I'll change that.

Proposal To Fix Mismatch of Dates: To set end date as the final strike day/month
I would propose that an actual final strike date/month is used as the end.
