"Recall elections in the Philippines" section is copied from other articles and should not be included in calculating the 5x expansion.

Howard the Duck: 2,509 bytes RPS minus the recall section (3198 - 689). Article was originally 598 bytes, so 5x is 2,990. Another 500 or so bytes RPS are needed. Other notes; there is some tense inconsistency; a citation is needed on the last sentence of the recall section; hook fact does check out. Ping me if you can get another 489 bytes RPS out of the other sections.

Re: Last sentence. That's uncited because that's math. One year from then mayor took office (June 30, 1999) to one year before the next election (May 13, 2000). I suppose basic math calculations do not have to be cited.
Re:Others: I'll check what can be done over the weekend.

Howard the Duck: The current total RPS is 4083 bytes, minus the recall section (689) is 3,394. So, that's good. The sentence For local officials elected in 1998 who took office on June 30, 1998, they can only be recalled from June 30, 1999 to May 13, 2000, or a year before the May 14, 2001 election. needs a citation. Hook fact checks out. That one sentence appears to be the last issue to be resolved.

As explained above, this is math. Simple calculations don't need citations.

FWIW, I've updated the link to the reference. The relevant section of the law is
Section 74:
No recall shall take place within one (1) year from the date of the official's assumption to office or one (1) year immediately preceding a regular local election.
Sec. 42. Date of Election. - Unless otherwise provided by law, the elections for local officials shall be held every three (3) years on the second Monday of May.
Sec. 43. Term of Office. - The term of office of all local elective officials elected after the effectivity of this Code shall be three (3) years, starting from noon of June 30, 1992 or such date as may be provided for by law, except that of elective Barangay officials: Provided, That all local officials first elected during the local elections immediately following the ratification of the 1987 Constitution shall serve until noon of June 30, 1992.
Using math here, there were elections every three years every May of 1995 and 1998, which was the last local election (
1998 Pasay local elections), and the officials elected on that election took office on June 30, 1998. Adding one year to June 30, 1998, you'd come up with June 30, 1999.
Next, the next election was the
2001 Pasay local elections, which happened on May 14, 2001. Again, using math, subtracting one year from May 14, 2001, you'd come up with May 13. 2000.
Ergo, someone can only be recalled between June 30, 1999, and May 13, 2000.
If you insist on having this cited, I'd rather just remove this and let the reader calculate on his mind based on what he just read.

I think this is a sufficient showing, now that I see it. That said, because it's the last sentence of a section, someone in promotion might get tripped up.

Howard the Duck: I added a citation needed tag to the article. Can you resolve this? Thanks.

This was the exact same thing that was discussed above. I just removed the sentence outright. I'll just let the reader calculate this for him/herself.

Concern has been resolved, readding tick per the above review.
