much needed complete rewrite
I looked back through the history of this article. i found that most of the article was added in 2007. And it appears to have been all original research using primary sources. there has been some minor additions and subtractions since then, but it needs to be completely rewritten using secondary sources. I'll see what I can do. --

Proposed beginning partial rewrite, make adjustments as necessary. If OK go ahead and insert in article.--

Took a look through, it seems the article is losing focus, recommend adding the "background" section to enhance
General_Conference_Session_(Seventh-day_Adventist_Church) as 1888 was a very specific event, context as to what a General Conference Session is and background does not, in my opinion fit in this article. --

I think I agree with you. I removed the introduction section here and I'll go ahead and moved the "background" info over to the article.
Please consider revising the paragraph to be less opinionated and more factual. Wikipedia has guidelines that require it to read more neutral, also let's avoid sweeping statements like "They felt" without a citation that backed that specific line up. Appreciate your efforts to improve the article, let's keep it in Wiki standards so it does not accidentally harm the strength of the article. Blessings --
