THEOS-2 (Thailand Earth Observation System-2), is a Thai
Earth observation satellite. The satellite would be capable of observing Earth's surface with a resolution of up to 50cm, and covering about 74,000 square kilometers per day.[1] THEOS-2 was launched by a
Vega rocket from
Guiana Space Centre in
French Guiana on 9 October 2023.[2][3][4]
THEOS-2, along with the
THEOS-2ASmallsat, is part of the
GISTDA's Development Survey Satellite System Project (โครงการระบบดาวเทียมสำรวจเพื่อการพัฒนา).[5][6] Following THEOS-2, Thailand intends to build the THEOS-3 satellite completely domestically.[7]
