Swaminatha Desikar (1860–1939) was an Indian spiritual writer, from Valavanur in Tamil Nadu. He was born in 1860, into an orthodox, Tamil-speaking Saiva Tamil ( Desikar) family. He compiled three books in Tamil.
He died near Thirukovilur at the age of 78.[ citation needed]
