The cited article says Norman Edelman thinks halotherapy might be more than a placebo and gives his reasoning how it might work. Based on the abstract that article tested the impact of practicing pulmonary rehabilitation in a salt cave or above ground and found that practicing in a salt cave showed some benefit.
