2021 national electoral calendar
→May: removed Scotland and Wales. This page is not about tradition or colloquialisms. There is a clearly established criteria on Wikipedia of what qualifies as a "sovereign state or dependent territory". Sub-national entities belong in the local electoral calendar, regardless of how they are 'traditionally' referred to or identified: "This local electoral calendar for 2021 lists the subnational elections..."Tags: Manual revertReverted

Scotland and Wales have not declared independence, and do not function as independent states. They are subnational entities, and precedent dictates they be treated as such here.Tags: UndoReverted

talk) The examples you mention are dependent territories, Scotland and Wales are not. Scotland and Wales are constituent parts of the UK. This is not about population or area etc, it's about status. Scotland and Wales are not allocated a ISO 3166-1 number, and do not qualify for this list.Tags: UndoReverted
