Sookie, also written ‘Sukey’ or ‘Suki’, is a variant of the name Susan or Susannah, from Hebrew שׁוֹשַׁנָּה (Shoshána) meaning "rose" or "lily." [1] Most famously, the name occurs in the English nursery rhyme " Polly Put the Kettle On." [2]
