In Mandaean astrology, Sin is associated with miscarriages and abnormal births. Other Mandaean names for Sin include Agzʿil, Ṭaṭmʿil, Ṣaurʿil, and Sira. Sin's name is derived from the Akkadian
Sīnu.[4]
