Shiroor is a village in Byndoor Taluk in the state of Karnataka, India. Mudramakki, Tuddalli, Kotemane , Hadavinakone and Neerugadde are localities within Shiroor. It is home to the Kannada, Konkani.Zamaithi & Nakhuda are languages commonly spoken in the area. Hindus are in majority.

Transport

Shiroor is connected to other cities and states in India by roads and railways. National Highway 66 (India) crosses the village, which had a major impact on its development. Under the Konkan Railway, many trains run day and night to and from the town. Shiroor is linked to the Indian railway system by Shiroor railway station.

Culture

The residents celebrate festivals such as Makara Sankranti, Nagara Panchami, Krishna Janmashtami, Ganesh Chaturthi, Navaratri, Deepavali. Folk arts like Yakshagana are also popular.

Shiroor is connected to nearby Bhatkal and Byndoor by the NH-66 which spans across the west coast from Mumbai to Kanyakumari making the region an accessible place. On the NH-66 highway, Shiroor Toll Plaza is located at the border of the village. Also, it is connected to several railways by the Shiroor Railway Station making this small village easily accessible. However, the nearest airport at Mangaluru (IXE), is more than 120 km away. The village is at least 100 km far away from most major cities, while at the same time is located near the well-developing town of Bhatkal. This connectivity can help pay the way for development and industrialization in the near future.
