This article is about the gong instrument. For the drum instrument, see
tsuzumi.
The shōko (鉦鼓) is a small
bronzegong, struck with two
hornbeaters, used in
gagaku.[1][2] It is suspended in a vertical frame and comes in three sizes. In
Buddhist music and Japanese folk music the instrument is called kane/shō.
