American actor, animator, writer, producer, director, comedian, and singer Seth MacFarlane has released eight studio albums, one extended play, one soundtrack album, 11 singles (including two as a featured artist). He has also contributed numerous songs on his projects, such as Family Guy, American Dad!, Ted, and among others. In 2005, he served as a producer for the Family Guy soundtrack, Live in Vegas. [1] The album was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Comedy Album. [2]
In 2010, MacFarlane signed a record deal with Universal Republic Records. [3] In September 2011, MacFarlane released his debut studio album Music Is Better Than Words. [4] The album received positive reviews and reached 111 on the US Billboard 200 chart. [5] On November 30, 2011, the album received two Grammy Award nominations for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. [6] In September 2014, MacFarlane released his second studio album, and first Christmas-themed album Holiday for Swing. [7] [8] The album reached 51 on the Billboard 200. [5] In September 2015, MacFarlane released his third studio album, No One Ever Tells You. [9] [10] [11] The album earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. [12]
In 2016, he made a guest appearance on Barbra Streisand’s album, Encore: Movie Partners Sing Broadway. He performed " Pure Imagination" with her as a duet. [13] A year later, MacFarlane released his fourth studio album In Full Swing. [14] The album received two nominations at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album and Best Arrangement, Instrumental and Vocals. [15] His fifth studio album, Once in a While was released on April 19, 2019. [16]
During the COVID-19 pandemic, MacFarlane and Elizabeth Gillies collaborated on a series of songs, eight in total, on an extended playlist entitled, Songs from Home. [17] [18] He released his sixth studio album, Great Songs from Stage & Screen in August 2020. [19] Like his previous four albums, he recorded a majority of the songs at Abbey Road Studios. However, much of the albums post-production work was done at home due to the pandemic. [20] On May 20, 2022, MacFarlane released his seventh studio album, Blue Skies. [21] In November 2023, MacFarlane and Gillies collaborated again and released their Christmas album, We Wish You the Merriest. [22]
