Ryuichi Sakamoto: Opus, graphically rendered as Ryuichi Sakamoto | Opus, is a 2023 Japanese concert film directed by Neo Sora. It premiered out of competition at the 80th edition of the Venice Film Festival.

Plot

The film documents the last concert that Ryuichi Sakamoto, who was already struggling with cancer and who wasn't performing live since many years, held in late 2022, a few months before his death. [3] [4]

The film had its world premiere out of competition at the 80th Venice International Film Festival. [5] [6] It was later screened in other festivals, including the New York Film Festival, the BFI London Film Festival, and the Tokyo International Film Festival. [7] [8] [9]

Reception

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 100% of 28 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 8.5/10. [10]
