Rubryka is a Ukrainian online media outlet specializing in Solutions Journalism and covering news and socio-political developments from Ukraine in Ukrainian, Russian, and English. It was founded in 2018 by its editor-in-chief Anastasia Rudenko, the only Solutions Journalism trainer in Ukraine, accredited by the Solutions Journalism Network. [1]
Since 2020, Rubryka has been focusing on Solutions Journalism and the principles of constructive journalism, [2] focusing not only on the problems Ukrainians face but also on the solutions they find and how those work. [3] It is the only media outlet in Ukraine specializing in the Solutions Journalism approach, with its articles highlighted by the global Solutions Journalism aggregator Solutions Story Tracker. [4] In 2021, Rubryka launched its signature format for solutions stories. [5]
In Ukraine, Rubryka is recognized as a publication with high journalistic standards and a focus on media literacy. [6]
The publication is internationally acclaimed as a solutions media outlet [7] [8] and has cooperated with such organizations and global promoters of Solutions Journalism as Transitions [9] and Solutions Journalism Network. [10]
Since the start of the full-scale war in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the publication has continued covering the stories of solutions responding to the problems caused by the war. [11] [12] The publication has also launched an English-language podcast about solutions by Ukrainians to cope with the war challenges.
