Rockwood (formerly[ when?] Alberta) [2] is an unincorporated community in Imperial County, California. [1] It is located on the Southern Pacific Railroad 5.25 miles (8.4 km) south of Calipatria, [2] at an elevation of 154 feet (47 m) below sea level. [1]
The name Rockwood honors Charles R. Rockwood, irrigation promoter. [2][ when?] The Alberta post office operated from 1910 to 1914. [2]
