Oscar Wilde once said, “Only the shallow do not judge by appearance,” and that statement holds true for boxer-turned-tailor Regilio Benito Tuur, who believes a man’s appearance is critical to his success. Almost always dressed immaculately in a three-piece suit, flower in lapel, Tuur bears a striking resemblance to his hero Sugar Ray Robinson and carries the air of a 20th-century dandy. The former Olympian and World Boxing Organization champion insists, though, it was a natural transition from athlete to tailor: his father was a boxer and his mother was a seamstress. Born to a family of 10 children, Tuur’s four older brothers boxed and his sister sewed, and Regilio was caught between a needle and a hard place. In the end, he chose both; Regilio boxed so he could make clothes without being called a “wimp” by his brothers. Tuur was born and raised in Holland, now resides in NYC and his clothing style reflects a European flair, with fitted suits and exceptional Italian fabrics. Regilio Benito’s handmade suits are available custom-order or made-to-measure, ranging from $2,000 to $5,000. Based in Midtown New york, his tailors can travels to meet his clients in their offices and homes, advises them on selecting the most appropriate suits, and even provides them with physical training if he feels they need to lose a few pounds.

Regilio Benito T. is the fifth child in a very close family of 10 children. Regilio is the proud father of two daughters: Tyra Aleaya and Enola Estee. Regilio is known among peers as one of the biggest optimists you will ever meet. He credits his persistence, discipline and knowledge of self as key factors in his life achievements and overcoming lifes' obstacles. When asked what his negative qualities are, Regilio says "None that I can't work on and improve". He has a strong interest in the overall public wellness & vitality of the world, the environment, child education & parenting in the world. His hobbies are photography, modern art and design, graphic design and architecture.

Born in Paramaribo the capitol of former Dutch Colony Suriname in 1968 lived there until 1972. At the age of four, family moved to Holland the Netherlands in West Europe. Regilio himself moved to New York in December 1988 to pursue boxing career. He first lived in Whitestone; Queens 1988-1991, Bayside; Queens from 1991–1993, Malverne; Southern Long Island from 1993–1999, Williamsburg; Brooklyn from 1999–2000 and Beford Stuyvesant; Brooklyn from 2000-2001. Tuur moved to Manhattan in 2001 where he currently resides.
