Phaestus or Phaestos or Phaistos ( Ancient Greek: Φαιστός) was a town of ancient Thessaly in the district Pelasgiotis, a little to the right of the Peneius. It was taken by the Roman praetor Marcus Baebius Tamphilus in 191 BCE. [1]
