Family of birds
The Pelecanidae is a family of
pelecaniform birds within the
Pelecani that contains three genera: the extinct
Eopelecanus and
Miopelecanus and the extant
Pelecanus .

Pelecanids have existed since the late
Eocene (
Priabonian )
