Onosma is a genus of flowering plants in the family Boraginaceae. They are native to the Mediterranean and western Asia. They grow in dry, sunny habitats with rocky, sandy substrates. [1] Some are popular as rock garden plants. [2]
Estimates of the number of species in the genus range from about 85 [3] or 88 [4] to 150. [1] [5] The systematics are unclear and the group is in need of study and revision. [1]
