Okatuppa is a name derived from the Choctaw language purported to mean "parted water" or "dammed". [2] Variant names include "Bogueloosa Creek", "Oak Trapper Creek", "Oak Tuppa Creek", "Oakatuppa Creek", "Oaktupa Creek", "Oaktuppa Creek", and "Oka Tuppah Creek". [1]
