Naiara Moreno Aznar (born 29 April 1997) is a Spanish singer, known for being the winner of the twelfth edition of the Operación Triunfo contest. [1]

Early life

Naiara Moreno was born in Zaragoza on 29 April 1997, she grew up in the nearby municipality of Pastriz, where her family is from, and she is the eldest of six siblings. Naiara had been a singer of the Aragonese orchestra Nova Alaska, until she auditioned for Operación Triunfo in 2023. [2] [3]

Career

Moreno participated in Cántame una canción, a contest that aired in 2010. [4] Her professional career in music began as a singer with the Nueva Alaska orchestra, performing in different municipalities and cities in Spain, especially in Aragon. [2] [3]

On 6 July 2023, Naiara appeared at the Operación Triunfo casting in Zaragoza. She had been selected, managing to pass the different phases until reaching Gala 0, where she performed for the first time in Operación Triunfo on 20 October 2023, with the song Me Muero by La Quinta Estación. During her time on the program, she was the favorite nominee of the Operación Triunfo audience on three occasions, and achieved special success in Zaragoza [5] singing jotas during her time, and giving visibility to Aragón. On 5 February 2024, Naiara became a finalist for Operación Triunfo thanks to the scores given by the jury members, and on 19 February, she was proclaimed the winner with the song Sobreviviré by Mónica Naranjo with 49% of the votes. [7] [8]
