Mohamed Helmy (born 29 October 1962) is an Egyptian football manager and former football player who spent the majority of his playing career with Zamalek. [2] He is currently Zamalek's Head of Junior Sector. [3] He also competed with Egypt in the men's tournament at the 1984 Summer Olympics. [4] [5] [6]
Helmy was a former striker, and most recently coach of El Zamalek, a post from which he resigned in 2016 following successive Champions League defeats to South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns. He also played for the Egyptian national football team, and was instrumental in helping Zamalek win the Egyptian Cup on 25 May 2008.[ citation needed]
