Lyons is a rural locality in the City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. [2] In the 2021 census, Lyons had a population of 39 people. [1]
The locality is partly used for farming but is mostly undeveloped. [3]
The name Lyons comes from the settler William Lyons who lived in the area in the 1880s. [3] The locality was named and bounded on 24 April [2] 1997. [3] It was formerly in the Shire of Beaudesert, however it became part of Logan City following the local government amalgamations in March 2008. [3]
In the 2016 census, Lyons had a population of 32 people, 41.7% female and 58.3% male. The median age of the Lyons population was 48 years, 10 years above the national median of 38. [4]
In the 2021 census, Lyons had a population of 39 people, 50.0% female and 50.0% male. The median age of the Lyons population was 47 years, 9 years above the national median of 3.8 [1]
