He has written several books, including The Beautiful Bronx (1920-1950), The Bronx in the Innocent Years: 1890-1925, and Bronx Accent.[6][7] Ultan is renowned for his
walking tours.[8] His predecessor as the official Bronx Borough Historian was Dr. William A. Tieck, who served from 1980 to 1996.[9]
