It is one of the Big Five film studios. Columbia Pictures is a subsidiary of multinational conglomerate Sony.

2. Some movies had been reshuffled due to SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes in 2023.
Sony is also developing an animated Ghostbusters film, but that will come out after this new live-action project, and a different team will be involved in creating it.
