Limpenhoe Meadows is a 12-hectare (30-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest west of Reedham in Norfolk. [1] [2] It is part of the Broadland Ramsar site [3] and Special Protection Area, [4] and The Broads Special Area of Conservation. [5]
This area of unimproved fen grassland in the valley of the River Yare has a network of dykes. The soils vary from alluvial clays in the valley bottom to poorly drained peats higher up. The meadows are species-rich with some uncommon plants. Aquatic plants in the dykes include the nationally rare sharp-leaved pondweed. [6]
The site is private land with no public access.
