Species of bacterium
Leptospira kirschneri is a
Gram negative , obligate
aerobe species of
spirochete bacteria named for
University of Otago bacteriologist Dr.
Leopold Kirschner . It is a member of the genus
Leptospira .

leptospirosis , most commonly in pigs.
