Lauren Daniel is an American politician from the Georgia Republican Party who serves as a member of the Georgia House of Representatives representing District 81. [1] She was first elected to House District 117 however due to recent litigation [2] this House District has slightly changed to be wholly in Henry County and encompasses parts of McDonough, Locust Grove, & Ola and been renamed House District 81.

As the youngest female member of the Georgia House, [3] Lauren has worked on issues that affect Georgia's families and mothers. [4] [5] Speaker Jon Burns tasked her with carrying priority legislation to increase the child tax deduction by $1,000 for each child [6] in an effort to help parents combat the rising costs of family necessities. [7] Since the birth of her most recent son Zane, she has been known to bring her son with her during her legislative duties [8] and Zane has been officially named, “the Baby of the House” [9] in the Georgia House of Representatives.

Representative Daniel has also introduced legislation to create a Maternal and Infant Health Commission to help fight the high maternal and infant mortality rates in the state. [10] This bill eventually gained passage as HB 1046 169–1 in the House and 47–7 in the Senate. [11]

In addition to her role in the Georgia legislature, Daniel has a background in marketing and communications, and she runs a local non-profit known as “Kindness Works” which is focused on anti-bullying efforts in the local school system. [12] [13] She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Georgia State University. Daniel is married to her high school sweetheart Zakery, and the two of them have been involved in local politics since 2013. [14] [15] Daniel is the mother of four young children.
