Kyzylsky District ( Russian: Кызы́лский кожуун; Tuvan: Кызыл кожуун, Kızıl kojuun) is an administrative [1] and municipal [6] district ( raion, or kozhuun), one of the seventeen in the Tuva Republic, Russia. It is located in the center of the republic. Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Kaa-Khem. [1] Population: 27,659 ( 2010 Russian census); [3] 22,678 ( 2002 Census); [8] 22,205 ( 1989 Soviet census). [9] The population of Kaa-Khem accounts for 54.4% of the district's total population. [3]
