Kharaji (
Persian : خراجي , also
Romanized as Kharājī and Kherāji ; also known as Khāriji )
[3] is a village in, and the capital of,
Kiar-e Gharbi Rural District of the
Central District of
Kiar County ,
Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari province,
Iran . The village is populated by
Lurs .

At the 2006 census, its population was 3,078 in 772 households, when it was in the former Kiar District of
Shahrekord County .
[5] The following census in 2011 counted 3,113 people in 964 households,
[6] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Kiar County.
[7] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 2,880 people in 947 households. It was the most populous village in its rural district.
