Jimminy Lummox is the seventh episode of the third season of The Ren & Stimpy Show that originally aired on Nickelodeon in the United States on 19 February 1994.

Plot

Ren goes on a spree of cruel practical jokes. [1] When Ren tortures Stimpy's friend, Ralph the fly by tearing off his wings, Stimpy asks Ren if he has a conscience. [2] Ren does not know what a conscience is. Stimpy lends Ren his conscience which takes the form of Jimminy Lummox who whacks Ren on the head with a pipe wrench every time Ren thinks a wicked thought.. [3] Soon, Jimminy is whacking Ren for occasions when Ren's anger is justified such when Stimpy washes Ren's collection of celebrity underwear. [3] As the attacks of his conscience escalate to the point where Jimminy starts dropping cars on Ren, he asks Jimminy if he has a conscience. [3] Jimminy replies he does have a conscience, which appears as Tinkergaloot, a transvestite fairy who whacks Jimminy on the head with a pipe wrench every time he whacks Ren. [3]

Production

The episode was heavily censored by the network which removed the scenes of Ren tormenting Stimpy along with the scene where Ren tricks Mr. Pipe into drinking beaver urine. [3]

Reception

The American journalist Thad Komorowski gave Jimminy Lummox two stars out of five, writing that the episode was "a one-joke cartoon made funnier by Freberg's voice work". [2]
