American mathematician
Jason Alan Behrstock is a mathematician at the
City University of New York known for his work in
geometric group theory and
low-dimensional topology .

Life and career
Behrstock was born in California and was educated in California's public school system.
[2] He received his Ph.D. from
State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2004.
[3] He went to work at
Columbia University and the
University of Utah before his time at
Lehman College ,
City University of New York .
