Geography
The Bruce Highway enters the locality from the east ( Foreshores) and exits to the north ( Tannum Sands). [3]
The North Coast railway line enters the locality from the east (Foreshores) and exits to the north-west ( Benaraby). [3] The locality is served by:
- Rodds Bay railway station, now abandoned ( 24°03′59″S 151°23′13″E / 24.0665°S 151.3870°E). [4]

History
Iveragh State School opened in 1922 in a school building relocated from the Toolooa State School. [10] It was on a 5-acre (2.0 ha) land parcel. [11] The school closed in 1940. [12]

There are no schools in Iveragh. The nearest government primary school is Benaraby State School in neighbouring Benaraby to the north-west. The nearest government secondary school is Tannum Sands State High School in neighbouring Tannum Sans to the north.. [3]
